Pace Indicator
The pace indicator shows timing information relative to the expected schedule:
- Ahead of expected pace: You’re completing parts faster than the scheduled rate
- On expected pace: You’re tracking with the scheduled rate
- Behind expected pace: You’re completing parts slower than the scheduled rate
This information helps you and your team understand where things stand, not to judge performance.
Time Remaining
- Estimated time to complete current job
- Updates based on your actual production rate
Recording Downtime
When production stops, it’s important to record why. This helps your team investigate patterns and address root causes.
Step 1: Tap “Record Downtime”
- Tap the Downtime button (red button)
- This pauses your production timer
Step 2: Select Reason
Choose from common downtime reasons:
- Machine Issue - Equipment malfunction or breakdown
- Tooling - Tool change or tool problem
- Material - Waiting for parts or materials
- Operator - Break, training, or other operator-related
- Changeover - Switching to different part/product
- Quality - Quality check or rework
- Other - Custom reason (add notes)
Step 3: Add Details (Optional)
- Tap Add Note to provide more context
- Use voice-to-text for faster entry
- Photos can be attached if needed
Step 4: Resume Production

- They’re tracked separately from good parts
- Supervisor receives notification
- Quality team will review and make disposition
- You can see hold status in your summary screen
Offline Mode
Attainment Tracker works even when you don’t have internet connection.
How Offline Mode Works
Automatic Synchronization:
- When online, data syncs in real-time
- When offline, data is stored locally on your device
- When connection returns, data automatically syncs
- No data is ever lost
What Works Offline
Recording production counts, adding downtime, recording quality issues, viewing current job details, viewing lineup, and completing jobs all work offline.
Loading new jobs, seeing real-time updates from other cells, and accessing reports require an online connection.
Checking Sync Status
Look for the connection indicator in the top corner:
- Online: All data synced
- Syncing: Uploading offline data
- Offline: No connection, data stored locally
- Shows number of pending records waiting to sync
Ensuring Data Safety
Attainment Tracker automatically:
- Saves every action locally first
- Queues data for sync when connection returns
- Retries failed syncs automatically
- Shows confirmation when all data is synced
Tip: At the end of your shift, ensure all data is synced before clocking out.
Understanding What You See
Real-Time Metrics
Your screen shows live data from your cell:
Cycle Time
- Average time per part based on your actual production
- Shown alongside the expected cycle time for context
- Helps you and your team understand what’s happening vs. what was planned
What’s Happening vs. Expected
- Shows your current production rate relative to the expected rate
- 100% means you’re producing at exactly the expected rate
- Above or below 100% tells you the difference between actual and planned — it’s a data point, not a verdict
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Combines uptime, speed, and quality into one number
- Shows how the cell is running relative to its configuration
- Calculated automatically from your data
Shift Summary
At any time, tap Summary to see:
- Total parts produced
- Target vs. actual
- Downtime breakdown by reason
- Quality metrics (scrap rate, rework)
- Production rate relative to expected
End of Shift
Clocking Out
Step 1: Review Your Shift
- Tap End Shift button
- Review your shift summary
- Verify all counts are accurate
Step 2: Add Shift Notes (Optional)
- Add any comments about the shift
- Note any issues for next shift
- Flag anything your supervisor should know
Step 3: Confirm & Clock Out
- Tap Confirm & Clock Out
- Your shift data is finalized
- Device returns to login screen (if shared device)
Handoff to Next Shift
If someone else is taking over your cell:
- Complete current job if close to finishing
- Leave notes about current state
- Highlight any issues or concerns
- Ensure all data is synced before logging out
Tips for Success
Best Practices
- Record in Real-Time: Don’t wait until end of shift to enter counts
- Be Specific with Downtime: Accurate downtime reasons help your team investigate issues
- Report Quality Immediately: Catch issues early to prevent waste
- Review Your Lineup: Know what’s coming next to prepare
- Keep Device Charged: Ensure tablet/device stays powered
- Sync Before Shift End: Verify all data is uploaded
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Batch entering all parts at end of shift (reduces data accuracy)
- Skipping downtime recording (makes metrics incomplete)
- Not reviewing job details before starting (leads to errors)
- Ignoring quality issues (compounds waste)
- Forgetting to clock in/out (affects labor tracking)
Troubleshooting
Problem: Can’t add parts
Solution:
- Ensure you’ve started your shift
- Check that you have an active job assigned
- Verify device isn’t frozen (try tapping elsewhere)
- If offline, check storage space
Problem: Downtime won’t save
Solution:
- Make sure you selected a reason
- Check required fields are filled
- Verify connection status
- Try again after connection restores
Problem: Job details won’t load
Solution:
- Check internet connection
- Jobs may be loading from cache if offline
- Contact supervisor if details are incorrect
- Refresh by pulling down on screen
Problem: Device is slow or frozen
